TIPS TO STAY HEALTHY

There are steps that everyone can take to reduce the risk of getting sick or infecting others:

  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Limit close contact, like kissing, shaking hands, and sharing cups or utensils.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue.
  • Get a flue shot to prevent influenza if you have not done so this season.

Important Information for LPU Students

As classes are moved online for the next couple of weeks and some students decide to go home, the library would like to help you find the information and research you need in order to complete your courses.

  1. The library has added some new required materials/eBooks to the library catalog. We were not able to get eBooks for every class, but we have added quite a few. You will find all required materials broken down by class name at the following link https://lifepacific.on.worldcat.org/courseReserves/landing
  2. If you have gone home, note that the library has an ACL reciprocal borrowing agreement for Traditional Students and an ATLA reciprocal borrowing agreement for Graduate students. This means there may be a college/university near you from which you may be able to check out physical books at. Please make sure you check their library website for any closures during this time. Here is the map of the ACL reciprocal borrowing institutes: https://www.google.com/maps/d/embed?mid=1HUFSao4t5FoOCgbXqzpNPOzTzuA
    1. A couple things to note:
      1. Before you go to an ACL reciprocal borrowing institute, make sure to fill this form out and send it to library@lifepacific.edu so we can complete and sign the last part of the form. We will send it back to you and you will need to take a copy of the form with you to the participating library. file:///C:/Users/Library/Desktop/ACL%20RBP%20Authorization%20Form%20digital%20signature.pdf
      2. Make sure you check the library website and or call the library before going to make sure they are still open and receiving outside patrons.
  3. At this time, the library is still open. Things may change in the coming days and hours of operation may change as well. You can stay up to date with library hours by checking out the calendar found on our website https://lifepacific.libguides.com/university_library. We will make sure to update everyone on hours and changes.
  4. If you are in need of materials that the library owns, please fill out this form and we will try to quickly get you the resources you need https://lifepacific.libwizard.com/f/Request-Library-Room-or-Library-Instruction-2019-2020
  5. Finally, please note that the library staff is here to help you. If you need help with questions, research, finding materials for your courses, we are here. You can always email us at library@lifepacific.edu or chat with us online.
