Ryan Lytton: Assistant Professor & Director of Academic Services

Ryan Lytton started his education at LIFE East Bible College and continued at Life Pacific College where he graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies. While there he learned to read both Greek and Hebrew, and developed a passion for studying Bible in its original languages. He completed a Master of Arts in Christian Thought from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where he focused on Patristic Theology, specifically how they interpreted scripture. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. through Ridley College, continuing his study of Patristic Exegesis by looking at the reception of Proverbs 8:22-31 up to 381 CE.

He's an unapologetic nerd who knows lots of useless things like how to sing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star in Latin. He is married to Samantha (also a Life Pacific graduate, class of '08) since 2008. Their first child, Marshall, was born in 2014, and their second, Amelia, was born in 2016.

     Josh Ortega has been at LPU since the Fall of 2015, serving in multiple capacities as an adjunct faculty in Biblical Studies and Transformational Ministry, serving in the Office of Calling and Vocation, and the Office of Student Development in other vital areas. He has served in ministry since he was a teenager. He is an ordained pastor who recently served as a Youth Pastor for over 6 years. Josh comes from a long line of Foursquare Ministers. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Life Pacific University and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Azusa Pacific University. He plans to get a second Master in Library Information Science (MLIS) from San Jose State University starting in the Fall of 2022. Josh lives in San Dimas, has been married to his wife Allison for over 9 years, and has the most handsome son you will ever meet, Phillip.
