Instructions from Course Outline

Library Research Assignment [10% of the final course grade]
(Meets Course Objective #7.)
Due at the end of Week 5.
You should follow these steps to successfully complete this assignment:
1. Use the LPU Library databases to locate at least 3 full-text journal articles on the subject of burnout and how to avoid it.

  • Think of how many search combinations you can use – burnout, clergy burnout, stress, etc., in order to find appropriate articles.

2. After reading these articles, write a short 2-3 page action plan that integrates what you have learned into your own life and ministry context.

  • How do you plan to avoid burnout as you progress through the Degree Completion Program?
  • What specific steps will you take in your ministry, work, and family life that will help you successfully adapt to this new time commitment?

3. Format:

  • Your action plan should be written as a formal MLA paper [no title page needed].
  • You should cite your research articles often, as these form the basis of your action plan. You can also bring any resources you already own or have read into the discussion.
  • You must include a Works Cited page in correct MLA format.
